Setting Preferences in Photoshop
We'll learn how to customize Photoshop to create an efficient workflow. We'll be modifying Photoshop's Preferences allowing us to create a personalized and efficient workspace for an optimal workflow.

The Photoshop Workspace
We'll be exploring the Photoshop workspace to customize Photoshop to suit a personal and optimized workflow for your personal photography workflow. We will be exploring the Tool Bar, Options, Menus, the various pallettes and the Image Space or Work Window. We'll further touch upon various options available within each tool, how to set and group various tools and explore the tools most suited to a photography workflow. Expanding into the various palletes, we will explore the most efficient groupings for palletes and create custom keyboard shortcuts to make the most efficient use of time while working with Photoshop.

The Tool Bar and Options Menu
This short video is aimed to help students go through the Photoshop maze by conveniently accessing all the various tools specifically associated with the photography world. We would learn to edit the toolbar and manage to group different tools together or additional tools within a tool. By the end of this video, the students would have an optimum toolbar set up within their Photoshop workspace.

Selection Tools
One of Photoshop's most powerful abilities is enabling us to work with selected areas on an image. This allows us to make fine adjustments within our image to reach the desired look. In this video, we explore the various selection tools existing within Photoshop. Alongside these tools, we'll also explore the behaviours, dynamics, and unique controls for each one of them.

The Crop Tool & More
We briefly discuss a few more tools essential for a photographer's workflow. The crop tool primarily allows us to straighten or crop an image. Here we explore the crop tool at a basic level alongside the different options and variations that lie within. We also touch upon the eyedropper tool which is designed to sample colours from any part of the image in order to designate background and foreground colours. Lastly, we look at the colour sampling tool that enables us to measure colour values in specific areas of the image.

Functions of the Healing Tool
This lesson will introduce you to various tools within Photoshop used to "heal" certain areas within an image. Healing refers to correcting imperfections, causing them to disappear into the surrounding image. We will be exploring the options within, their functionalities, and the behaviours of The Spot Healing Brush Tool, The Healing Brush Tool, The Patch Tool and The Content-Aware Move Tool

Functions of the Clone Stamp Tool
Cloning refers to replacing information for one part of an image with information from another area. The Clone Stamp tool is an extremely handy tool for professional photographers. Here we explore its behaviour. We dive deep into the various options available within the Clone Stamp Tool. We'll also explore how to use different options to achieve different results. Furthermore, we explore the behaviour and use of the Pattern Stamp Tool towards the end of this lesson.

The History and Art History Brush Tools
Here we explore a rather interesting tool available within the Photoshop world. Starting with a quick recap and further explanation of what "history" and the "history pannel" are; We further show the behaviour and functionality of the History Brush Tool with examples of uses in a still-life image. The history brush allows you to restore parts of an image to an earlier history state by painting over them Our discussion will conclude with the exploration of various options and controls within the history brush tool.

The Eraser and Fill Gradient Tools
The first aim of this lesson is to explore different ways to get rid of a background in an image. We start by exploring the three different variations of the Eraser Tool. We look at the behaviour for each one of them along with the different modes and options within each. We further explore the paint bucket tool, and crucial to editing; the gradient tool. It creates a gradual blend between multiple colors. Gradients are integral while editing images and making masks. Here we familiarise ourselves with the gradient tool and the various options and variations available within.

Dodge, Burn & Smudge Tools
Our exploration of the tools available within Photoshop gets deeper as we set out to understand some of the tools that impact the image at a pixel level and play around with the detail within those areas by softening, sharpening, darkening or brightening them.

The Pen Tool & More
The final video from our introduction to Photoshop series explores the functions and behaviour of various additional tools including the zoom tool, pan tool, and various types of the pen tool in addition to the shape tools used for various complex retouching and design applications.
