About Course

This workshop is designed for anyone interested in better understanding the lighting gear, what may be a preferred choice for each one of the participants

 

Introduction to the type and nature of lights

  • Using hot lights to understand the quality, direction, brightness and colour of light.
  • Understanding Mono lights vs. Generator lights (Strobes)
  • Working with self-contained battery-powered lights (Strobes)
  • Introduction to Speedlights/Flash only. (if you are looking to better understand the use of speedlights, consider the Flash Photo workshop)
  • Soft and hard lighting
  • Understanding the importance of each unique light as well as the light-shaping tool and how they can best be utilized. This implies learning to make the appropriate choice of better understanding the direction of light, light shapers and diffusers.
  • Using a light meter for comprehensive understanding and control of light to manage correct and predictable exposure and contrast dynamics.

 

Please understand that we will not be covering the fundamentals/camera controls during this workshop. You must have a good understanding of the camera controls as well as using the camera in the manual mode.

 

All you need is your camera with charged batteries and a lens 50mm to 135mm
